Abu Dharr said:- "Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) had left us in the following state: that there was not even a bird flapping its wings in the air without his having already imparted to us knowledge about it. Then he said (peace be upon him): 'Nothing remains that brings you closer to Paradise or further from the Hellfire except that it has been explained to you'." [al-Mu`jam al-Kabîr (2/155-156)] al-Khattabi (rah) explains the hadeeth as follows:- Imam Ahmad and al-Tabarani narrated from Abu Dharr (r) who said:- "When the Messenger of Allah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) left us there was not a bird that flies but he had informed us about it." Narrated by al-Tabarani in al-Kabir (2:155 #1647) with trustworthy narrators per al-Haythami (8:263-264), Ahmad, Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi, Ibn Sa`d in his Tabaqat (2:354), al-Bazzar in his Musnad (9:341 #3897), al-Tabari in his Tafsir (7:189) Ibn `Abd al-Barr in al-Isti`ab (4:1655), Ibn Hibban (1:267 #65 isnad sahih), and al-Daraqutni in his 'Ilal (6:290 #1148). Cf. al-Haythami, Mawarid al-Zam'an (p. 47). Also narrated from Abu al-Darda' by Abu Ya`la in his Musnad (9:46 #5109 isnad sahih). *Note:Knowedge of birds taught by Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) means he taught them slaughtering method and halal and haram about birds.
This certainly brought a lump to my throat SUBHANALLAH ! My " Salaams" To You All.
Y a s m i n. "Never Despair Of The Mercy Of Allah" ' Son of Adam! You are nothing but a number of days, whenever each day passes then part of you has Gone. [Al-Hasan Al-Basree]
