The Braying Drunkard!

Al-'Awâm b. Hawshab (148H) – Allâh have mercy on him – said:-
I once came to an area in one part of which was a graveyard.
After 'Asr, one of the graves split open and
a man with the head of a donkey and the body of a human came up from it and brayed three times, after which the grave closed back up on him.
I then saw an old woman weaving fleece or wool, and a woman said, "Do you see that old woman?" I said, "What about her?"
She replied, "That is the mother of this [dead] man." I asked,
"What was his story?" She replied, "He used to drink wine, and whenever he would go out his mother would say:-
'O my son, fear Allâh; until when will you keep drinking wine?'
He would reply, 'You bray like a donkey.'
The woman said, "He then died after 'Asr, so every day after 'Asr the grave opens up and he brays a few times, then the grave closes up on him again."
{Subhan Allah}
Al-Hâfidh Abul-Qâsim Al-Asbahânî, Al-Targhîb wa Al-Tarhîb article 471.
Shaykh Nâsir Al-Dîn Al-Albânî graded this narration hasan in his edition of Al-Mundhirî's Al-Targhîb wa Al-Tarhîb.
 See Sahîh Al-Targhîb wa Al-Tarhîb hadîth 2517.
Al-Mundhirî quotes Al-Asbahânî as saying:
This [story] was narrated by Abul-'Abbâs Al-Asam in a dictation at Naysâbûr, in the presence of great preservers [of traditions] and people of knowledge, and they did not reject it.

'The cup U give to Others, is the cup U shall Drink from' [Food for thought]

'Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam
'ala Rasulillah'

'As-Salaam Alaikum Wa-RahmatullahiWa-Barakatuhu'
Abu Hatim:-
'The intelligent one must adhere to salvation by staying away from probing into the faults of people, and instead should preoccupy himself with his own faults.
Surely, whoever preoccupies himself with his own faults instead of the faults of others, will find peace and relaxation in his being and his heart will not be exhausted.
Whenever he looks to his faults and errors, then the similar faults of his brother will be easy for him to bear.
However, whoever preoccupies himself with the faults of others instead of his own, then his heart will become blind, he will become tired out and he will forget his own shortcomings.
The weakest of people is the one who criticizes others for what is in them, and the weakest from amongst them is the one who criticizes others for what is also within himself.
And whoever criticizes others, will be criticized by them.'
Truthful was he who said:-
'If you rebuke others, they'll rebuke you and do so more!
And then what was hidden within you, will be on show.
Someone once said in some statement of the past,
A word containing wisdom and beauty so vast:
If ever you mention people, then leave behind their errors
For there is no error, except that yours can be said
If you criticize a people for what is not within them
Then that is mighty in the Sight of Allah and also men,
And if you criticize them for what is also within you
Then how can the one-eyed rebuke the one-eyed too?
And how can people be criticized by someone who
His faults are worse when all faults are diffused?
When you look for other's defects, you shall indeed find them
But remember that what is in you is far greater than them
So grant peace to the people, and leave them to themselves
For they can see your errors more than you can see yourself.'
Al-Shaybani mentioned that, "It is written in the Books that:
'As you treat others, you shall be treated, and the cup you give to others, is the cup you shall drink from'

“Man Models himself after his Companion"{Quran-Bukhari-Muslim-Tirmidhi}

'Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah'

'As-Salaam Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu'

Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:-

"The example of a good companion and a bad one is the bearer of musk and the worker on the bellows.
A bearer of musk would give you some, you might buy some from him, or you might enjoy the fragrance of his musk. The worker on the bellows, on the other hand, might spoil your clothes with sparks from his bellows, or you get a bad smell from him."

Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) uses an effective example to bring to the hearer's conception the impact of good company and bad company.

A good companion is compared to a musk seller or a perfume seller.
A perfume seller might give you some of his fragrance, and a good companion might give you some good advice or a useful tip. A perfume seller can be useful by selling you some of his musk, and a good friend can be useful by responding readily to your demand for help in any matter, mundane or religious. At the very least, a musk seller is nice to have around, even without being beneficial in any practical way, as the pleasant smell emanating from his direction is a pleasure in itself.
Similarly, a good companion is at least useful to you for your good name and the pleasure of good company. Just to feel his presence improves your spirits.

In contrast, a bad companion is comparable to a worker on the bellows. If you come close to the bellows, sparks might hit your clothing and make holes in them. Even at some distance, you will feel the stench of burning. Your only hope is in keeping away from the horrid smell. And it is the same way with a bad companion; if you are close to him and identify with him, you will take over some of his perversity, and your character will be harmed, just as your clothes will be spoiled if you come too close to a worker on the bellows. Even if you remain safe from the influence of a bad companion, you cannot escape people talking about you for consorting with bad company.
You cannot even be sure that such a person will not adversely affect you in the end:
The following verses from the Qur'an  are self explanatory:-

"And incline not to those who do wrong, or the fire will seize you
[Hud 11:113)

'Therefore, shun those who turn away from Our remembrance and desire nothing but the life of this world.'

[An-Najm 53:30]

In another place, the Qur'an directs a believer to seek the company of the well guided.
"Restrain thyself along with those who call on their Lord morning and evening seeking His face."
 [Al-Kahf 18:28]

On the authority of Abu Hurairah, also corroborates the same concept:
"Man models himself after his companion; so let each one of you see who he chooses for companion"

[At-Tirmidhi]

THE GROWTH OF A CHILD IN THE WOMB OF A MOTHER AND HIS DESTINY IN REGARD TO HIS LIVELIHOOD, HIS DEEDS,
BOTH GOOD AND EVIL

 Abdullah B. Mas'ud reported that :-
Allah's Messenger
[may peace be upon him]
Said:-

'Verily your creation is on this wise.
The constituents of one of you are collected for forty days in his mother's womb in the form of blood,
after which it becomes a clot of blood in another period of forty days.

Then it becomes a lump of flesh and forty days later Allah sends His angel to it with instructions concerning four things, so the angel writes down his

# 1/  livelihood,

# 2/ his death,

# 3/ his deeds,

 # 4/ his fortune &  misfortune

By Him, besides Whom there is no God, that one amongst you acts like the people deserving Paradise until between him and Paradise there remains but the distance of a cubit, when suddenly the writing of destiny overcomes him and he begins to act like the denizens of Hell and thus enters Hell, and another one acts in the way of the denizens of Hell, until there remains between him and Hell a distance of a cubit that the writing of destiny overcomes him and then he begins to act like the people of Paradise and enters Paradise.

Most Sincere is One who Loves ALLAH MOST![Ibn Qayyim Al-Fawaa’id]

'Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah'

'As-Salaam Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu'

Love of the Beloved.

A person can have nothing more beneficial than sincerity towards his Lord in all his affairs, along with sincerity of resolve, so he should be sincere towards Him in his resolve and in his actions.
Allah says: "And when the matter is resolved on, then if they had been true to Allaah, it would have been better for them"
[ Q-Muhammad 47:21].
So his happiness lies in sincerity of resolve and sincerity of action. Sincerity of resolve means certain desire to do an action and not hesitating to do it. If his resolve is sincere, all that is left is sincerity of action, which is  doing one's best and striving one's utmost when doing it , and not letting anything, outward or inward, hold him back from it. Resolve of purpose prevents him from becoming weak-willed and sincerity of action prevents him from becoming lazy or lethargic.

If a person is sincere towards Allah in all his affairs, Allah will give him more than He gives to others, and this sincerity results from true love of Allah and true trust in Him. So the most sincere of people is the one who is loves Allah most and puts most trust in Him.

Meaning of Surah Yasin ---- Heart of Quran

SURAH YASEEN

Bismillahir Rahman nir Rahim

Yaa-seen

-          Yasin

Wal Qur’aanil Hakeem

-          By the wise Quran

Innaka laminal mursaleen

-          No doubt, you, one of the Apostles

Alaa siraatim mustaqeem

-          Have been sent on the straight path

Tanzeelal ‘azeezir Raheem

-          Sent down by the Dignified, the Merciful

Li-tunthira qawmam maa unthira aabaa uhum fahum ghaafiloon

-          So that you may warn a people whose fathers were not warned, so they are unaware

Laqad haqqal qowlu ‘alaa aktharihim fahum laa yu’minoon

-          Undoubtedly, the word has been proved against most of them, so they shall not believe

Innaa ja’alnaa fee ‘anaaqihim aghlaalan fahiya ielal athqaani fahum muqmahoon

-          We have put on their necks chains reaching to their chins so they remained raising up their faces

Wa ja ‘alnaa mim bayni aydeehim saddow wa-min ghalfihim saddan fa-agshay naahum fahum laa yubsiroon

-          And We have set a barrier before them a barrier behind them and covered them from above, therefore they see nothing

Wa sawaa-un ‘alayhim a-anthartahum am lam tunthir hum laa yu’minoon

-          And it is equal for them whether you warm them or warm them not, they will not believe

Innamaa tunthiru manit-taba-ant-thikra wa ghashi-yar rahmaana bil-ghaybi, fa-bash-shirhu bimagh firatew-wa ajrin kareem
-          You warm only him who follows admonition and fears the Most Affectionate without seeing, so give him glad tiding     of forgiveness and a respectable reward

Innaa nahnu nuhyil mawtaa wa naktubu maa qaddamoo wa aathaarahum wa kulla shay-in ahsaynaahu fee imaamim mubeen
-          Undoubtedly, We shall give life to the dead and We are nothing down what they have sent forward and what signs they have left behind and We have already kept counted every thing in a clean book

Wadh-rib lahum mathalan as haabal qaryati ith-jaa-ahal mursaloon

-          And narrate them the signs of the people of a city; when there came to whem sent ones
Ith arsalnaa ilayhi muth nayni fa kath-thaboo humaa fa-az-zaznaa bi thaalithin faqaaloo innaa ilaykum mursaloon
-          We have sent to them two. Then they belied them, so We strenghten them with a third, now they all said; verily we have been sent to you

Qaaloo maa antum ilaa basharum mithlunaa wa maa anzalar-rahmaanu min shay-in inantum illaa takthiboon

-          They said ‘you are not, but a man like us and the Affectionate has sent down nothing, you are only lying

Qaaloo rabbunaa ya’lamu innaa ilaykum la-mursaloon

-          They said ‘our Lord Knows that undoudtedly, we have necessarily been sent to you

Wamaa ‘alaynaa illal balaaghul mubeen

-          And on us is not but clear deliverance

Qaaloo innaa ta-tay-yar-naa bikum, la-in-lam tantahoo, lanarjuman-nakum wa –la-yasmas-sannakum minnaa ‘athaabun aleem
-          They said, we augur ill of you, undoudtedly, if you desist not, we shall then surely stone you, and a painful
Chastisement from us will certainly fall you

Qaaloo tor-irukum ma’akum; a-in-thuk-kirtum bal antum qawmum musrifoon

-          They said, ‘your ill star is with you. Do you start on it that you are made to understand? Nay, you are a people exceeding the limit.

Wa jaa-a min aqsal madeenati rajulew-yas aa qaala yaa qawmit-tabi’ul-mursaleen

-          And from the remote part of the city there came a man running. He said, “O my people, follow the sent ones”

Ittabi-‘oo man-laa yas-alukum ajrow-wa hum muh-tadoon

-          Follow those who do not ask any reward of you and they are on the right course.

Wa maa liya-laa a’budul lathee fatara-nee wa ilayhi turja’oon

-          And what is to me that I should not worship Him Who create me and you are to return only to Him.

A-at-taghithu min doonihee aalihatan in-yuridnir-rahmaanu bi dhurri-laatughni ‘annee shafaa-atuhum shay-an-walaa yun-qithoon
-          Shall I take, besides Allah, other gods that if the Most Affectionate intends any harm, their intercession shall not be of any use to me and nor would they save me?

Innee ithal-lafee dhaalalim mubeen

-          Undoubtedly then I am in clear error

Innee aamantu bi-rabbikum fas-ma-‘oon

-          Undoubtedly Ibelieved in your Lord, so listen to me

Qeelad gulil jannat; qaalaa yaa layta qawmee ya’lamoon

-          It was said to him, enter the garden. He said ‘would that my people knew.

Bimaa ghafaralee rabbee wa ja-‘alanee minal mukrameen

-          As my Lord has forgiven me and has made me of the honoured ones

Wa-maa anzalnaa ‘alaa qawmihee mim-ba’dihee min jundim minas-samaa-I wa-maa kunnaa munzileen

-      And We sent not against his people after him any army from the heaven & nor We ever to send down there any army

In kaanat illaa say-hatow waahidatan fa-ithaahum ghaamidoon

-          It was but only a shriek, hence they remained extinguished.

Yaa hasratan ‘alal ibaadi, maa ya’teehim min rasoolin illaa kaanoo bihee yastahzi-oon

-          (And it was said) Ah! Woes on those bondsmen, when any Messenger comes to them, they mock at them

Alam yaraw kam-ahlaknaa qoblahum minal qurooni anna-hum ilayhim laa yarji-‘oon

-          Have they not seen that how many generations before them We have destroyed? Now they are not to return to them

Wa in-kullul-lammaa jamee’ul-ladaynaa muhdharoon

-          And all of them shall be made to appear before Us

Wa aayatul-lahumul ardhul maytatu, ah-yaynaahaa wa-ag-rajenaa minhaa habban faminhu ya’kuloon

-          And a sign for them is the dead earth We gave life to it and We brought forth grains from it. Then they eat therefrom

Wa ja’alnaa feehaa jannaatim min nageelew wa a’naabew wa faj-jarnaa feehaa minal ‘uyoon

-          And We made therein gardens of dates and vines and We cause to gush forth springs therein

Liya ‘kuloo min thamarihee, wamaa amilat-hu aydeehim; afalaa yashkuroon

-          In order that they may eat the fruits thereof and it is not made of their hands. Will then they not be grateful?
Subhaanal-lathee galaqal azwaaja kullahaa mimmaa tumbitul ardhu wa min anfusihim wa mimmaa laa ya’lamoon
-          Sanctified is He who has made all pairs of that the earth grows and of themselves and of those things of which they have no knowledge

Wa ‘aayatul-lahumul laylu, naslagu minhun-nahaara fa-ithaa-hum muthlimoon

-          And a sign for them is the night, We draw off the day therefrom, hence they are in darkness

Wash-shamsu rajree limus-taqarril-lahaa; thaalika taqdeerul ‘azeezil ‘aleem

- And the sun runs to its appointed resting place. This is the commandment of the Dominant, The Knowing.

Wal qamara qad-darnaahu maanaa-zila hattaa ‘aada-kal ‘urjoonil qadeem

-          And We have appointed states for the moon till it becomes again like an old branch of palm tree
Lash-shamsu yambaghee lahaa an tudrikol qamara wa-lal-layloe saabiqun-nahaari; wa kullun fee falakin-yasbahoon
-          It is not for the sun that it might catch the moon and nor the night may supercede the day. And each one is floating in an orbit

Waaayatul lahum annaa hamalaa thur-ree-yatahum fil fulkil mashhoon

-          And a sign for them is that We bore their offspring in a laden Ark

Wa galaqnaa lahum mim-mithlihee maa yarkaboon

-          And We have created for them similar (vessels) on which they ride

Wa-in-nasha ‘nugh-riq-hum falaa sareega lahum walaahum yunqathoon

-          And if We please, We may drown them, then there will be non to reach to their cry nor shall they be rescued

Illaa Rahmatan minnaa wa mataa’an ilaa-heen

-          But a mercy from Us and a convenience for a time

Wa ithaa qeela lahumut taqoo maa bayna aydeekum wa maa ghalfakum la-‘allakum turhamoon

-          And when it is said to them ‘fear what is before you and what is to come behind you that perchance you may receive mercy, then they turned their faces’

Wamaa ta’teehim min-aayatim min aayaati rabbihim illaa kaanoo ‘anhaa mu’ridheen

-          And whenever there comes to them any sign out of the signs of their Lord, they turn their faces from it
Wa ithaa qeela lahum anfiqoo mimmaa razaqa-kumul laahu, qaalal latheena kafaroo lillatheena aamanoo anut-‘imu mal-low yashaa ullahu atama-hoo, in antum illaa fee dhalaalim mubeen
-          And when it is said to them, spend out of that with which Allah has provided you, then infidels say to the Muslims, ‘shall we feed those whom Allah would have fed, if He had so willed? You are not but in a manifest error

Wa yaqooloona mataa haathal wa’du in kuntum saadiqeen

-          And they say, ‘when this promise will come, if you are truthful

Maa yathuroona illaa sayhatan-waahidatan ta’guthuhum wa hum ya –gissi-moon

-          They wait not but for a shriek that will seize them when they will be busy in worldly disputes

Falaa yastatee’oona towsiyatow walaa ilaa ahlihim yarji’oon

-          Then neither they will be able to make a will nor will they return to their homes

Wa nufiga fis-soori fa-ithaahum minal ajdaathi ilaa Rabbihim yansiloon

-          And the trumpet shall be blown, henceforth they will walk running towards their Lord from their graves
Qaaloo yaa waylanaa mam-ba’athanaa mim marqadinaa; haathaa maa wa’adar-rahmaanu wa sadaqal mursaloon
-          They will say ‘Ah’ woe to us who has awaken us from our sleeping? This is what the Most Affectionate has promised and the Messengers told the truth

In kaanat illaa sayhatow-waahidatan fa-ithaa-hum jamee-‘ul ladaynaa muhdharoon

-          It will not be but a horrible shrieking, henceforth they all shall be presented before Us

A-walaysal lathee ghalaqas samaawaati wal-ardha biqaadirin ‘alaa ay-yagluqa mithlahum; balaa Wa-huwal gallaaqul ‘aleem
-          And what! He who created the heavens & the earth can not make the like of them. Why not, & He is the Great Creator, all Knowing
Innamaa amruhoo ithaa araada shay-an an-yaqoola lahoo kun-fa-yakoon
