Article:You Are Being Lied to About Pirates

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim

You Are Being Lied to About Pirates

Who imagined that in 2009, the world's governments would be declaring a new War on Pirates? As you read this, the British Royal Navy - backed by the ships of more than two dozen nations, from the US to China - is sailing into Somalian waters to take on men we still picture as parrot-on-the-shoulder pantomime villains. They will soon be fighting Somalian ships and even chasing the pirates onto land, into one of the most broken countries on earth. But behind the arrr-me-hearties oddness of this tale, there is an untold scandal. The people our governments are labeling as "one of the great menace of our times" have an extraordinary story to tell -- and some justice on their side.

Pirates have never been quite who we think they are. In the "golden age of piracy" - from 1650 to 1730 - the idea of the pirate as the senseless, savage thief that lingers today was created by the British government in a great propaganda-heave. Many ordinary people believed it was false: pirates were often rescued from the gallows by supportive crowds. Why? What did they see that we can't? In his book Villains of All nations, the historian Marcus Rediker pores through the evidence to find out. If you became a merchant or navy sailor then - plucked from the docks of London's East End, young and hungry - you ended up in a floating wooden Hell. You worked all hours on a cramped, half-starved ship, and if you slacked off for a second, the all-powerful captain would whip you with the Cat O' Nine Tails. If you slacked consistently, you could be thrown overboard. And at the end of months or years of this, you were often cheated of your wages.

Pirates were the first people to rebel against this world. They mutinied against their tyrannical captains - and created a different way of working on the seas. Once they had a ship, the pirates elected their captains, and made all their decisions collectively. They shared their bounty out in what Rediker calls "one of the most egalitarian plans for the disposition of resources to be found anywhere in the eighteenth century." They even took in escaped African slaves and lived with them as equals. The pirates showed "quite clearly - and subversively - that ships did not have to be run in the brutal and oppressive ways of the merchant service and the Royal navy." This is why they were popular, despite being unproductive thieves.

The words of one pirate from that lost age - a young British man called William Scott - should echo into this new age of piracy. Just before he was hanged in Charleston, South Carolina, he said: "What I did was to keep me from perishing. I was forced to go a-pirating to live." In 1991, the government of Somalia - in the Horn of Africa - collapsed. Its nine million people have been teetering on starvation ever since - and many of the ugliest forces in the Western world have seen this as a great opportunity to steal the country's food supply and dump our nuclear waste in their seas.

Yes: nuclear waste. As soon as the government was gone, mysterious European ships started appearing off the coast of Somalia, dumping vast barrels into the ocean. The coastal population began to sicken. At first they suffered strange rashes, nausea and malformed babies. Then, after the 2005 tsunami, hundreds of the dumped and leaking barrels washed up on shore. People began to suffer from radiation sickness, and more than 300 died. Ahmedou Ould-Abdallah, the UN envoy to Somalia, tells me: "Somebody is dumping nuclear material here. There is also lead, and heavy metals such as cadmium and mercury - you name it." Much of it can be traced back to European hospitals and factories, who seem to be passing it on to the Italian mafia to "dispose" of cheaply. When I asked Ould-Abdallah what European governments were doing about it, he said with a sigh: "Nothing. There has been no clean-up, no compensation, and no prevention."

At the same time, other European ships have been looting Somalia's seas of their greatest resource: seafood. We have destroyed our own fish-stocks by over-exploitation - and now we have moved on to theirs. More than $300m worth of tuna, shrimp, lobster and other sea-life is being stolen every year by vast trawlers illegally sailing into Somalia's unprotected seas. The local fishermen have suddenly lost their livelihoods, and they are starving. Mohammed Hussein, a fisherman in the town of Marka 100km south of Mogadishu, told Reuters: "If nothing is done, there soon won't be much fish left in our coastal waters."

This is the context in which the men we are calling "pirates" have emerged. Everyone agrees they were ordinary Somalian fishermen who at first took speedboats to try to dissuade the dumpers and trawlers, or at least wage a 'tax' on them. They call themselves the Volunteer Coastguard of Somalia - and it's not hard to see why. In a surreal telephone interview, one of the pirate leaders, Sugule Ali, said their motive was "to stop illegal fishing and dumping in our waters... We don't consider ourselves sea bandits. We consider sea bandits [to be] those who illegally fish and dump in our seas and dump waste in our seas and carry weapons in our seas." William Scott would understand those words.

No, this doesn't make hostage-taking justifiable, and yes, some are clearly just gangsters - especially those who have held up World Food Programme supplies. But the "pirates" have the overwhelming support of the local population for a reason. The independent Somalian news-site WardherNews conducted the best research we have into what ordinary Somalis are thinking - and it found 70 percent "strongly supported the piracy as a form of national defence of the country's territorial waters." During the revolutionary war in America, George Washington and America's founding fathers paid pirates to protect America's territorial waters, because they had no navy or coastguard of their own. Most Americans supported them. Is this so different?

Did we expect starving Somalians to stand passively on their beaches, paddling in our nuclear waste, and watch us snatch their fish to eat in restaurants in London and Paris and Rome? We didn't act on those crimes - but when some of the fishermen responded by disrupting the transit-corridor for 20 percent of the world's oil supply, we begin to shriek about "evil." If we really want to deal with piracy, we need to stop its root cause - our crimes - before we send in the gun-boats to root out Somalia's criminals.

The story of the 2009 war on piracy was best summarised by another pirate, who lived and died in the fourth century BC. He was captured and brought to Alexander the Great, who demanded to know "what he meant by keeping possession of the sea." The pirate smiled, and responded: "What you mean by seizing the whole earth; but because I do it with a petty ship, I am called a robber, while you, who do it with a great fleet, are called emperor." Once again, our great imperial fleets sail in today - but who is the robber?

POSTSCRIPT: Some commenters seem bemused by the fact that both toxic dumping and the theft of fish are happening in the same place - wouldn't this make the fish contaminated? In fact, Somalia's coastline is vast, stretching to 3300km. Imagine how easy it would be - without any coastguard or army - to steal fish from Florida and dump nuclear waste on California, and you get the idea. These events are happening in different places - but with the same horrible effect: death for the locals, and stirred-up piracy. There's no contradiction.

A New Year: Reality and Aspirations

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

It is new Hijri. Our good deeds, our sins, and the thoughts that passed through our minds in the passed year are all sealed in our books of deeds for us to read when we meet our Lord. This moment is a chance for us to plan for the next year. To plan to be a better Muslim.

We are living in special, dangerous and trialing times. The youth of the ummah need to rise to the occasion. There is a saying: "The problems of today were caused by our fathers and will be solved by our children." This saying represents the ultimate level of lack of responsibility. Sadly enough we are reflecting such a mentality in our actions and words. But let us change that. Let us say that the problems of today are because of us and we are the ones who will change them In sha Allah.

So here is where our world stands today. Its realities and our aspirations:

Palestine: Gaza is suffering its worst bombardment in recent history. Yes, the Israeli's may have the upper hand in the conflict today but lets not lose sight of the whole picture. Do you remember that until some years ago the Jews where still talking about a kingdom extending from the Nile to the Euphrates? Where did all of that talk go? Today they are happy to build a wall around themselves in a strip of land so small it could fit in the state of Florida seven times. They want to be left alone. Their foolish imperialistic wishes are gone forever. The resistance of the Palestinian people has brought them down from their dream world back to reality.

There was a time when we were being fed conspiracy theories of the invincible Jew. We were being told that the Jew controls everything through secret orders. The Freemasons were everywhere, in government, in media, in business, everywhere. We were told that the Mossad knew everything. We were told that we are a helpless, weak, and defeated people so we might as well just give it up and submit. We were being told that their technologies are so advanced and we are so backward that we have no chance of resisting. Today Palestine is suffering, but their youth have proven the conspiracy theories wrong. They have showed us that the stone is mightier than the tank. They have shown us that we do not need to be equal to them in technology before we resist them. They have proven to us that if Allah is with you no one can defeat you.

I am not dismissing the theories of Jewish domination altogether because the Jews have been for the last few centuries working their way up. But their centuries of hard, and relentless work; their lobbying for control around the world, their wealth and genius, their advanced weaponry, their secret orders, and their worldwide power will be smashed on the rock of Jihad. Allah says: "Whoever Allah humiliates no one can honor." The Jews will be humiliated and no one, not the US, not Europe, no one can protect them from the Muslim swords when even the rocks and trees will testify against them. That day is coming.

Iraq: The US has come to the conclusion that they cannot do the job alone and they must seek the assistance of the munafiqeen (hypocrites.) With all of the outside and inside forces combining efforts to fight the carriers of the truth in Iraq our brothers do not need to win in order to be victorious. All what they need to do is hang on. If they succeed in that they are winning. The invader cannot stay there forever. Allah know best but it seems that outside circumstances around the world may ultimately come to their relief.

Somalia: This must be the best news of the year. Al-Shabab are wining on all fronts. In sha Allah we should witness the announcement of the establishment of an Islamic emirate. Ethiopia is tired of fighting a proxy war on behalf of America. They want to be paid for it and apparently they are squabbling over the wages. But that should not imply that the Shabab are now safe. I am sure the Shabab know that they should not be carried away by the momentary victory they are witnessing because the plots of the enemies of Allah are already underway. When the Muslims were proud of their numbers in Hunayn they lost. The sea around Somalia is aleady occupied under the pretext of protection from piracy. This year could witness aerial bombardment with a renewed ground force invasion as a possibility. Al Shabab are now faced with the daunting task of establishing and running a government. However, their special circumstances demand that they focus the majority of their effort not on the establishment of government but on the preparation for the next stage of their guerilla warfare. Allah says: "And prepare against them whatever you are able of power."

Afghanistan: The mujahideen are winning, NATO are loosing, and Karazai is still wearing that green thing. Obama is all hyped up about bringing an end to terrorism by focusing on Afghanistan. I pray the brothers teach him and his forces some good lessons this year.

Around the world: The separation of believers from hypocrites which precedes any Muslim victory is underway. The phenomenon of "RAND Muslims" is on the rise . But on the other hand, the Muslims who hold firm to tawhid and have their loyalty to Allah, His Messenger and the believers and who announce their disavowal of the disbelievers are also on the rise.

Dawa will carry on, tarbiyyah will carry on ,and Jihad will carry on. And all of these are building stones for the ummah in its next stage. If Allah wants an end he prepares the means to it. Allah wants victory for this ummah and Allah is preparing the means for that. Let us not sit on the sidelines. Lets be part of that victory.

Poem:Islamic Ways

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Islamic Ways

What has happened to us Muslims these days?
Why have we forgotten our Islamic ways?

The courtesies and etiquette our Prophet (saw) had taught
All those years of his training, have they been lost?

Take for example, the command to greet
Each other cheerfully whenever we meet.

To return the greeting or one better than it
Of the rights Muslims have on each other, one is this

Far from answering, we just turn away
Wondering what the person wants from us today.

Another way of bonding is a handshake
While the hands are touching, sins are erased

As for the smile, our Prophet (saw) has said
It's a form of charity that Allah rewards well

But as for us, we're so reluctant to smile
It's as if our treasure will be depleted each time

And when someone does something for us, how few
Say "Jazaak Allah" – "May Allah reward you"

For only from Allah is there true recompense
So the best thanks there is, is to supplicate for them.

And when we sneeze, do we say "Alhamdulillah"?
Our Prophet (saw) has said when you sneeze, praise Allah

When we hear others say this whenever they sneeze
Do we say "Yarhamukallah"- "On you Allah's Mercy"

And when we hear of a death, or someone is sick?
Do we supplicate for them? Are we sympathetic?

Are we affectionate to young, respectful to old?
Serve widows and orphans without being told?

Do our neighbours have little while we have so much?
Are we kind to them, even if they don't thank us?

Do we feed the poor? Are we generous to our guest?
When someone invites us, do we happily accept?

In our wedding feasts, do we differentiate?
Or do both our rich and poor participate?

Do we give away things, but with a heavy heart?
When it's something with which we don't wish to part

Do we put in a good word when someone needs help?
Or do we just leave it to be done by someone else?

Although we've been told by our Prophet (saw) that do
Intercede for each other and Allah will reward you.

These deeds may seem trivial but they're important you know
They're effective in making our Deeds Account grow.

To be loved by Allah – if that is our goal
Then follow the ways of His Prophet (saw), we're told

"Say (O Muhammad) : "If you do love Allah, follow me: Allah will love you and forgive you your sins for Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful." (Quran 3;31)

Article: No tears for Pakistan’s children

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Obama's tears for the children of Newtown are in stark contrast to his silence over the children murdered by his drones.

Mere words cannot match the depths of your sorrow, nor can they heal your wounded hearts ... these tragedies must end. And to end them, we must change — every parent can connect with what US President Barack Obama said about the murder of 20 children in Newtown, Connecticut. There can scarcely be a person on earth with access to the media who is untouched by the grief of the people of that town.

It must follow that what applies to the children murdered there by a deranged young man also applies to the children murdered in Pakistan by a sombre American president. These children are just as important, just as real, just as deserving of the world's concern. Yet there are no presidential speeches or presidential tears for them, no pictures on the front pages of the world's newspapers, no interviews with grieving relatives, no minute analysis of what happened and why.

If the victims of Obama's drone strikes are mentioned by the state at all, they are discussed in terms which suggest that they are less than human. The people who operate the drones, Rolling Stone magazine reports, describe their casualties as "bug splats", "since viewing the body through a grainy-green video image gives the sense of an insect being crushed". Or they are reduced to vegetation: Justifying the drone war, Obama's counterterrorism adviser Bruce Riedel explained that "you've got to mow the lawn all the time. The minute you stop mowing, the grass is going to grow back".

Like George W. Bush's government in Iraq, Obama's administration neither documents nor acknowledges the civilian casualties of the CIA's drone strikes in northwest Pakistan. But a report by the law schools at Stanford and New York universities suggests that during the first three years of his time in office, the 259 strikes for which he is ultimately responsible killed between 297 and 569 civilians, of whom at least 64 were children.

These are figures extracted from credible reports: There may be more which have not been fully documented.

The wider effects on the children of the region have been devastating. Many have been withdrawn from school because of fears that large gatherings of any kind are being targeted. There have been several strikes on schools since Bush launched the drone programme that Obama has expanded so enthusiastically: one of Bush's blunders killed 69 children.

The study reports that children scream in terror when they hear the sound of a drone. A local psychologist says that their fear and the horrors they witness is causing permanent mental scarring. Children wounded in drone attacks say they are too traumatised to go back to school and have abandoned hopes of the careers they might have had. Their dreams as well as their bodies have been broken.

Obama does not kill children deliberately. But their deaths are an inevitable outcome of the way his drones are deployed. We don't know what emotional effect these deaths might have on him, as neither he nor his officials will discuss the matter: Almost everything to do with the CIA's extrajudicial killings in Pakistan is kept secret. But you get the impression that no one in the administration is losing much sleep over it.

Blind eye

Two days before the murders in Newtown, Obama's press secretary was asked about women and children being killed by drones in Yemen and Pakistan. He refused to answer, on the grounds that such matters are "classified". Instead, he directed the journalist to a speech by John Brennan, Obama's counter-terrorism assistant.

To Brennan the people of north-west Pakistan are neither insects nor grass: his targets are a "cancerous tumour", the rest of society "the tissue around it". Beware of anyone who describes a human being as something other than a human being.

Yes, he conceded, there is occasionally a little "collateral damage", but the US takes "extraordinary care [to] ensure precision and avoid the loss of innocent life". It will act only if there's "an actual ongoing threat" to American lives. This is cock and bull with bells on.

The 'signature strike' doctrine developed under Obama, which has no discernible basis in law, merely looks for patterns. A pattern could consist of a party of unknown men carrying guns (which scarcely distinguishes them from the rest of the male population of north-west Pakistan), or a group of unknown people who look as if they might be plotting something.

This is how wedding and funeral parties get wiped out; this is why 40 elders discussing royalties from a chromite mine were blown up in March last year. It is one of the reasons why children continue to be killed.

Obama has scarcely mentioned the drone programme and has said nothing about its killing of children. The only statement I can find is a brief and vague response during a video conference last January. The killings have been left to others to justify. In October the Democratic cheerleader Joe Klein claimed on MSNBC that "the bottom line in the end is whose four-year-old gets killed? What we're doing is limiting the possibility that four-year-olds here will get killed by indiscriminate acts of terror". As the estimable Glenn Greenwald has pointed out, killing four-year-olds is what terrorists do. It doesn't prevent retaliatory murders, it encourages them, as grief and revenge are often accomplices.

Most of the world's media, which has rightly commemorated the children of Newtown, either ignores Obama's murders or accepts the official version that all those killed are "militants". The children of north-west Pakistan, it seems, are not like our children. They have no names, no pictures, no memorials of candles and flowers and teddy bears. They belong to the other: to the non-human world of bugs and grass and tissue.

"Are we," Obama asked on Sunday [16DEC], "prepared to say that such violence visited on our children year after year after year is somehow the price of our freedom?" It's a valid question. He should apply it to the violence he is visiting on the children of Pakistan.

Article:American Terrorist

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

American White 'Taliban'?

A day after the tragic shooting incident at a gurdwara, a mosque in the US was burned to the ground for the second time in little more than a month in an arson attack. It is an alarming situation in the US that within two days, two communities had been attacked by "unknown" terrorists. It is worrisome to see how the radicalism penetrated into the American society has started expressing itself. Those who have witnessed emergence of variety of Taliban around the world for instance, 'Afghan Taliban', 'Pakistani Taliban', 'Punjabi Taliban' and so on, can sniff existence of 'American white Taliban' evidently.

Taliban psychology is represented by violent intolerance in the western media. When the reason of killing and violence is racism and intolerance for other races and religions, it is tagged as 'stone-aged' and 'militant' 'Taliban' psychology. Now, this is what has been ominously witnessed in US as well. It is the need of the hour to dig out and control this home-grown militancy being nurtured, flourished and aided within the US.

US government would need to plan something much more vicious than what it plans for rest of the world to control these factors, as it would be very much embarrassing for the US to kill militants and terrorists oceans away for the safety of Americans when it cannot assure safety of Americans from militancy within America. I am sure, Obama would opt to go for using drones to deal with this inhuman uproar as drones remain the most accurate, flawless and safest weapon being extensively used in America's terrifying war on terror.

As a face-saving attempt, US might hurry to declare that the reasons behind these attacks had been nothing more than innocent psychological ailments as attackers are not "colour-skinned". Just as Robert Bales, US marine, who killed 16 civilians and set fire to their dead bodies in an Afghan village in March 2012, was declared to have "some psychological issues". Again, as US marine, Frank Wuterich, convicted over 2005 massacre of 24 civilians in Iraq attended jail for only three months. He said in his official statement: "I responded to what I perceived as a threat and my intention was to eliminate that threat in order to keep the rest of my Marines alive". This would be a very good explanation for what home-grown American terrorists did recently. But I still wonder, how this "potential threat" would explain marines urinating on dead bodies of Afghans.

However, US government should take these reputation stabilizing attempts much before American Taliban group proudly stands up and takes the responsibility of these attacks on what they perceived to be "potential threats".

Attending the festivals of the mushrikeen and congratulating them

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

1. Attending the festivals of the mushrikeen and congratulating them

Qstn: Is it permissible to attend the celebrations of Christian festivals and congratulate them?

You can check this link:

Or you can read below:

Praise be to Allaah.

Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: It is not permissible for the Muslims to attend the festivals of the mushrikeen, according to the consensus of the scholars whose words carry weight. The fuqaha' who follow the four schools of thought have stated this clearly in their books… Al-Bayhaqi narrated with a saheeh isnaad from 'Umar ibn al-Khattaab that he said: "Do not enter upon the mushrikeen in their churches on the day of their festival, for divine wrath is descending upon them." And 'Umar also said: "Avoid the enemies of Allaah on their festivals." Al-Bayhaqi narrated with a jayyid isnaad from 'Abd-Allaah ibn 'Amr that he said: "Whoever settles in the land of the non-Arabs and celebrates their new year and festival and imitates them until he dies in that state, will be gathered with them on the Day of Resurrection." (Ahkaam Ahl al-Dhimmah, 1/723-724).

With regard to congratulating them on their festivals, this has already been answered in Question no. 947, which we advise you to refer to.

Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid

2. Ruling on celebrating non-Muslim holidays and congratulating them

Qstn: Can a muslim celebrate a non muslim holiday like Thanksgiving?

You can check this link:

Or you can read below:

Praise be to Allaah.

Greeting the kuffaar on Christmas and other religious holidays of theirs is haraam, by consensus, as Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allaah have mercy on him, said in Ahkaam Ahl al-Dhimmah: "Congratulating the kuffaar on the rituals that belong only to them is haraam by consensus, as is congratulating them on their festivals and fasts by saying 'A happy festival to you' or 'May you enjoy your festival,' and so on. If the one who says this has been saved from kufr, it is still forbidden. It is like congratulating someone for prostrating to the cross, or even worse than that. It is as great a sin as congratulating someone for drinking wine, or murdering someone, or having illicit sexual relations, and so on. Many of those who have no respect for their religion fall into this error; they do not realize the offensiveness of their actions. Whoever congratulates a person for his disobedience or bid'ah or kufr exposes himself to the wrath and anger of Allaah."

Congratulating the kuffaar on their religious festivals is haraam to the extent described by Ibn al-Qayyim because it implies that one accepts or approves of their rituals of kufr, even if one would not accept those things for oneself. But the Muslim should not accept the rituals of kufr or congratulate anyone else for them, because Allaah does not accept any of that at all, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):

"If you disbelieve, then verily, Allaah is not in need of you, He likes not disbelief for His slaves. And if you are grateful (by being believers), He is pleased therewith for you. . ."
[al-Zumar 39:7

". . . This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islaam as your religion . . ."
[al-Maa'idah 5:3]

So congratulating them is forbidden, whether they are one's colleagues at work or otherwise.

If they greet us on the occasion of their festivals, we should not respond, because these are not our festivals, and because they are not festivals which are acceptable to Allaah. These festivals are innovations in their religions, and even those which may have been prescribed formerly have been abrogated by the religion of Islaam, with which Allaah sent Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) to the whole of mankind. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"Whoever seeks a religion other than Islaam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers." [Aal 'Imraan 3:85]

It is haraam for a Muslim to accept invitations on such occasions, because this is worse than congratulating them as it implies taking part in their celebrations.

Similarly, Muslims are forbidden to imitate the kuffaar by having parties on such occasions, or exchanging gifts, or giving out sweets or food, or taking time off work, etc., because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Whoever imitates a people is one of them." Shaykh al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyah said in his book Iqtidaa' al-siraat al-mustaqeem mukhaalifat ashaab al-jaheem: "Imitating them in some of their festivals implies that one is pleased with their false beliefs and practices, and gives them the hope that they may have the opportunity to humiliate and mislead the weak."

Whoever does anything of this sort is a sinner, whether he does it out of politeness or to be friendly, or because he is too shy to refuse, or for whatever other reason, because this is hypocrisy in Islaam, and because it makes the kuffaar feel proud of their religion.

Allaah is the One Whom we ask to make the Muslims feel proud of their religion, to help them adhere steadfastly to it, and to make them victorious over their enemies, for He is the Strong and Omnipotent.

Poem:I Wonder ... ?

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

I Wonder ... ?

If Prophet Muhammad(Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) visited you just for a day or two,
If he(S.A.W) came unexpectedly I wonder what you would do.

Oh, I know you'd give your nicest room
To such an honoured guest
And all the food you'd serve him
(S.A.W) would be the very best,

And you would keep assuring him(S.A.W),
Your glad to have him
(S.A.W) there,
That serving him
(S.A.W) in your home,
Is joy beyond compare.

But... when you saw him(S.A.W) coming,

Would you meet him(S.A.W) at the door,
With arms outstretched to your visitor
(S.A.W) ?
Or... would you have to change your clothes before you let him
(S.A.W) in?
Or hide some magazines and put the Qur'an where they had been?

Would you still watch the same movies
On your T.V set?
Or would you switch it off
Before he
(S.A.W) got upset?

Would you turn off the radio
And hope he
(S.A.W) hadn't heard?
Or wish you hadn't uttered that last hasty word?

Would you hide all your worldly music,
And instead take hadith books out?
Could you let him
(S.A.W) walk right in,
Or would you have to rush about?

And I wonder if the Prophet(S.A.W) spent
A day or two with you,

Would you go right on doing,
The things you always do?

Would you go on saying,
The things you always say?

Would life for you continue,
As it does from day to day?

Would your family squabbles,
Keep up their usual pace,
And would you find it hard each meal
To say a table grace?

Would you keep up each and every prayer
Without putting on a frown?

And would you always jump up early
For prayer at dawn?

Would you sing the songs you always sing?
And read the books you read?
And let him
(S.A.W) know the things on which,
Your mind and spirit feed?

Would you take the Prophet(S.A.W) with you
Everywhere you plan to go?

Or, would you maybe change your plans,
Just for a day or so?

Would you be glad to have him(S.A.W) meet
Your very closest friends?

Or, would you hope they stay away
Until his
(S.A.W) visit ends?

Would you be glad to have him(S.A.W) stay
Forever on and on...

Or would you sigh with great relief
When he
(S.A.W) at last was gone?

It might be interesting to know,
The things that you would do...

If Prophet Muhammad
(S.A.W), in person,
Came to spend some time with you.

May Allah guide us all in the straight Path,Ameen!!!

Aafia Siddiqui contracts cancer in us jail

Aafia Siddiqui contracts cancer in US jail

KARACHI - Pakistani scientist Dr Aafia Siddiqui, who is serving 86-year imprisonment in a US prison cell, has contracted cancer and allegedly become pregnant as a result of sexual abuse during her confinement.

Talking to The News Tribe, her sister Dr Fouzia Siddiqui said she had come to know through Pakistani Consul General in Houston that Aafia had been diagnosed with a cancer. She added that earlier there were reports that the Pakistani scientist had become pregnant due to alleged sexual abuse during imprisonment. However, the Pakistan Embassy has not playing its role in either confirming or rejecting the reports.

She said that former Pakistan ambassador to US Husain Haqqani was called back the next day when he told us about the condition of Aafia.

She quoted Pakistan Consul General Aqil Nadeem as saying that he was requesting the jail authorities for providing medical facilities to the Pakistani scientist.

Fouzia said keeping in view the reputation of the Roswell jail and the nature of her sister's disease the request was insufficient.

She urged the Pakistan Embassy to arrange a team of physicians comprising doctors from jail as well as from private sector for Aafia.

Fouzia said that newly-appointed Pakistan Ambassador to US Sherry Rehman had assured her all possible help before leaving for America to take up her new assignment. However, despite making contact with her, the envoy has not given any response in this regard.

Speaking about the reports of Aafia's alleged pregnancy, she said that her family was told about it after the Pakistani scientist showed some symptoms in the women jail.

Fouzia appealed to the US and Pakistani authorities to arrange a telephonic conversation of her mother with Aafia.

Earlier, British journalist and human rights activist Yvonne Ridley had declared the long punishment of Aafia as just 'one step away from death'.

Talking about attitude of Pakistani politicians being adopted on the Aafia issue, Fouzia said she would not believe in their statements until and unless her sister returns to Pakistan. She complained that the politicians had only exploited the Aafia issue just to gain political mileage.

She said that Aafia had been provided substandard food at jail, which led to health problems as she had complained of it during her earlier telephonic conversations.

The News Tribe, a UK-based bilingual news website has approached Pakistan Ambassador to US Sherry Rehman through an email to get her point of view on the issue but received no response till the filing of this news.
